Norah Balls – suffragette 3rd August 1886 – 26 May 1980. A leading North East activist in The Women’s Political and Social Union (WPSU), campaigning for women’s suffrage in the United Kingdom. Writer, historian, lecturer, guide leader, magistrate and councillor, her life was committed to public service.
